Arthur man, 23, dead after dirt bike collision

ARTHUR – A young man from Arthur is dead after he was thrown off a dirt bike here on Thursday night.

Emergency crews responded to a parking area along Eliza Street, south of Tucker Street, in Arthur at about 8:30pm on May 2.

“It was reported that the operator of a dirt bike was ejected and had sustained serious injuries,” states a May 3 press release from the Wellington County OPP.

Police say the driver of the dirt bike, a 23-year-old from Arthur, “was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries” but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The office of the Chief Coroner was notified and police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
